MERCURY (including mercuric oxide)

   These cells are retorted (heat under vacuum) to remove mercury content. After heating to approximately 700 degrees F, the mercury becomes vapor. This vapor is vacuumed off and condensed to elemental or liquid mercury. The mercury is then triple distilled, to ensure purity for re-use.
